WEEK 2:  Wednesday, September 28th thru Tuesday, October 4th.

This is my daily journal of six variables:  weight, water, exercise, ketosis, food, and drops.  NOTE:  Time entries are in hour blocks.  Activity noted took place at any time within that hour block.  I measure my ketosis levels midday.

 Journal Entry.  Today was the first day I didn't wake up with a slight hunger burn.  It's taken about a week to break through feeling hungry all the time, though I'm not sure whether it's because I wasn't eating enough last week, or because it just takes this long generally.  No coincidence that yesterday was my highest caloric day at roughly 450.

Of note:  I had the saltiest piece of fish ever yesterday.  Yuch.  Suspect that added to my slowed loss.

VLCD DAY 09: (09/29)

 Journal Entry.  I've been getting too few calories (fewer than 400 most days).  When my mom found out, I got the 'eye.'  You know the one:  when you see it, you freeze.  Despite the fact that you're over 40, and even though you're not doing anything, you pray - just pray - that she's looking at your brother.  Yeah.  She hit me with that.

So I finally had to decide which rule to break (not to mention the fact that I'm hungry all the time).  Do I stick to portions and ignore the 500 CU/day rule?  Or, do I ignore portions and stick to the 500 CU/day rule?  Assuming Dr. S intended on us getting 500, and assuming that the portions were a way to help us gauge and control that, I went with option 2 - hit 500.  Hence the 5.25oz of protein I had yesterday.  I figured that of all the groups, this was the safest one to jiggle with.  Yesterday, I finally got close to the 500 mark.  Let's see how this goes.

Journal Entry.  Today was the first day I had the 'not hungry' experience I've read about.  It's taken me about a week to get past feeling STARVED all the time.  I'm grateful for the Phentermine, since I believe it took the edge off.  Whew.  Yesterday, though, I wasn't interested in eating my last piece of fruit (sorry mom).  Could have taken it or left it.
